We were asked during the summer who has been a) the oldest competitor and b) the oldest Stroke in the Race. Older readers may recall that up to the early 1980’s we accepted all ages, and it is only since then (and the founding of the Vesta Vets HOR) that our age profile has been weighted towards younger oarsmen. What is more, giving one’s age used not to be a part of the entry process.

We would like to hear from you if you believe that you – or someone in a crew with you – might be the oldest in either of the categories mentioned . Needless to say some form of evidence would help greatly, but it might be possible for us to confirm a story through a third party. Please contact us with any constructive information.
