{"id":119,"date":"2013-11-23T12:18:45","date_gmt":"2013-11-23T12:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/horr.azurewebsites.net\/wordpress\/?page_id=119"},"modified":"2024-03-19T20:58:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T20:58:43","slug":"safety","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.horr.co.uk\/wordpress\/safety\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Safety notes are now incorporated into the <a title=\"Safety &amp; Race Instructions 2020\" href=\"https:\/\/www.horr.co.uk\/wordpress\/rules-and-instructions-2024\/\">Instructions and Rules<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The HoRR Committee strongly recommends that all competing clubs show their crew coxes the video &#8220;<a title=\"Steering a Tideway Head\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jfDvLHK58Ig&amp;t=588s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steering a Tideway Head<\/a>&#8221; at least once before the race.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On the day of the race, and in the preceding days, there are a lot of crews using the Tideway, and for many of them they are on unfamiliar waters.\u00a0 On Race Day there is a river closure from about one hour before the start of the race, and the normal rules are suspended, but they apply at all other times.<\/p>\n<p>For information on the rowing on the Thames please refer to the <a title=\"PLA Tideway Code\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pla.co.uk\/assets\/tidewaycodedigital.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PLA Tideway Code for Rowers<\/a>.
